Hallmarks of Success for ECSS
TIME Magazine featured the ECSS program in its
cover story on February 13, 2014, “The School
that will get you a job”.
The U.S. Secretary of the Navy and U.S. Secretary
of the Interior visited with ECSS students and
one principal and student was invited to the
White House to meet President Obama.
• The ECSS program was a catalyst for a student-
based web development enterprise.
• In 2015, nearly 100 students completed summer
internships.
• After the 2015 summer internships, Richard
Dominguez, executive director, Literacy
Chicago, commented, “The interns’ skill level
was very high. They knew how to work the
computers and web pages, and their knowledge
